if you don't work 4 hours a day, something is wrong, thee conquest is still on

Miss Tang told us during the assembly talk: if you are not studying for 4 hours a day, then something must be wrong.
so here's what i'm doing now. i just completed 2 hrs and 15mins of maths. after then, in the night, i'm going to carry on with 2 hrs of chemistry. yup, that's 4 hrs and 15mins. but the problem is tonight, the chornicles of narnia is airing + liao zhai + the young warriors of the yang clan. haha so many tempting shows. sigh. leave it to my mum to watch then, i'll be isolating myself. btw, i'm still hunting for places to watch my 'latest buzz' episode!!

ok i read sumiko tan's column today. the question that struck me: do you live to work or work to live?hmm.. what a question to ponder on....many people might think that they work to live, well, my views might differ:
1) i live because God gave me life and a purpose
2) he can be my benefactor
3) hence i live because i need to work for him, to spread the gospel
yup that's my Christian point of view.
but beacuse of sin, its hard, with so many distractions in the world, its hard, with so many excuses, i end up saying: it's hard because of.......

well, consider this: you are a successful millionaire, money, family, carrer. you're only 40. would you retire? or continue working.
many will say retire of course. who would be such a dumbo to stay and slug it out at work.
i beg to differ. ok. lets say you decide to retire
the day before retirement, tributes.. gifts.. hugs.. handshakes.. pat on the backs..
on the morning of day 1 retirement.
you sleep in for the first time!! no more morning rushes to catch the bus, spilling coffee down your tie instead. no more rushing reports to hit deeadline. no more no more. instead, you can enjoy your breafast that you wife did for you before she left for work. you read the newspaper with your morning coffee, switched on the tv, check the stock market. life continues with you practising your golf swing, hit the golf course. yes freedom , free from being tied down with the chains of work.
however, do you think you can go on like that for ... who knows how long? 1 year, 1 decade?
some may argue and rebutt: but he may have made future plans, like visit countries, globe trot.
yeah i agree . some of them may. but will be go alone? leaving his wife, his family. his children may only be toodlers. what will happen to them if he goes?
so moral of story, don't retire till you have a plan. money may not solve your problems.hehe
