Day 95

Everything seems to happen for a reason. Our motive is not to question, but to follow.
But i am still feeling a bit bummed about not being to go for SNSD concert next Saturday :( zzzz missed dream concert.... which was not really a big thing since my friends came over to Daejeon :) really glad that we had a chance to showcase the wonderful food that Daejeon has. CHEAP AND AWESOME! haha.

Something shocking happened on the bus today-- a guy went into a fit on the bus. It was really sudden and us as passengers were really concerned. The ambulance took some time to arrive though and by the time it came, the man had already stopped shaking. The male nurse greeted the man and asked him a series of question which the man was able to answer. Didn't stay to see the outcome as another 604 came and we got on to it to reach our destination. Maureen felt saddened by the fact that we are majoring in Bio science yet we are unable to help him. During the moment where i saw the man going into a state of spasm, i had the same notion too. Helplessness. the only thing i knew about having fits is that you need to place something in his mouth to stop him from biting his own tongue. But from where we were, the man did not seem to show that symptom. This taught me to realise that i generalize fits too much. Just because one fit has this symptom does not mean that another fit will have it too. Just because i major in bio science does not mean that i have the knowledge to treat emergency situations. I am no medical student. Although it would be good if i was equipped with the basic knowledge or life skill as to how to react when faced with this situation. I was really in awe at the young guy who came forward to support the man as well as the bus driver who asked someone to call the ambulance. every one was really well prepared and know what to do. Maybe its because i am in a foreign country with not much ability to ask for help, let alone make a phone call to the hospital. I didn't even know what the emergency number was. well, i guess its time to prep up more. who knows what kind of situation i would face back in Singapore.

i am working hard now as finals are in 2 weeks. staying up late and doing extra stuff so i really hope that i can do well. Congrats to all my friends whose GPA went up this sem. for those who didn't, there is still next sem. let's jia you together!! :D

Talked to marshmallow today after such a looooooooooooooong time. turns out she came to daejeon as well on a ipodia symposium i suppose haha unfortunate that we couldn't meet in Korea, yet God managed to link us together by allowing me to view her status/photos on fb and then talking againg :) Glad to hear that you're doing well back in Beijing. talk to you soon :D
