Tommy and Tuppence: a review

Thomas Beresford and Prudence Beresford (nee Cowley) aka Tommy and Tuppence. Their nicknames or family name as they prefer to go by.

only 5 books in the series and yes, i have completed the set of Tommy and Tuppence Agatha Christie's collection.
The Secret Adversary
Partners in Crime
N or M?
By the Pricking of my Thumbs
Postern of Fate

They met and married in the secret adversary.I have to admit, the details are hazy as it was the first book of the series I attempted to read and foolishly I did not know it was part of a series at all. Rather I thought Tommy and Tuppence was a one off character stint.Of course it was to my delight that I realised I can visit the couple once again in not 2 bit 4 more books. Yes, I devoured them within a span of 5 days haha.

The secret adversary started them off young in their early twenties I should say.

Partners in Crime opens 6 years after they have got married. Partners in Crime was unlike the other 4 books. It was actually a collection of mysteries that as taken from Wiki ' reminiscent another mystery author's work'. The 15 stories revolve around a major plot of the no. 16 and the last story revealed the case and of course SPOILER ALERT: the entrance of a baby :)

N or M is a full story with N being a male spy and M being his female counterpart. Tuppence really had my admiration here as the information delivered to them by a certain Mr Grant was only meant for Tommy's ears but Tuppence managed to pull the old 'bang door trick' and overheard everything. She made the arrangements to go to the same area under a disguise and well, you got to read the story for yourself if you wants to know how it ends. By now, they would have been in their early forties and yes they do have children. Twins Deborah and Derek who have astonishingly... no idea what their parents are actually up to. haha

By the Pricking of my thumbs was a more personal mystery that concerned Tommy's Aunt Ada and well... the twist at the end was really really scary.

The last book Postern of Fate was when the two old lovebirds bought a new home.. Tuppence's dream home I should put it and there was a mystery to solve.

The review has been rather short, plot-wise. But I really like the rapport they have for each other. As a couple and as partners in crime solving :) The affectionate tone used when Tommy calls Tuppence 'old thing' haha  and no one could really control her.. in a good way. The way their detecting styles complement each other. Tommy being very methodical and Tuppence nosy, always asking around. haha both of them really cannot live without each other although they do not want to admit it.

I wish someday.. I will be like that too :)

God bless and take care eveybody! do give the reads a go :)

=do something right=
